Review: Ramirez's Woman - Beverly Barton

My Rating: 5 Stars

Silhouette Intimate Moments No 1375 (The Protectors)

"Presidential candidate Miguel Ramirez was under attack, fighting for the future of his people - and his life. He needed a bodyguard, but JJ Blair wasn't the tough-as-nails muscleman he'd been expecting. With a campaign to win and only a petite, ravenhaired "fiancee" to protect him, Miguel knew he'd have to rely on his instincts to survive. Only JJ wasn't used to following orders. She was irritating, infuriating...and intoxicatingly beautiful. And although he was drawn to her, body and soul, Miguel couldn't afford to be distracted. Because having an undercover love could lead not only to passion - but peril."

Each time I read one of the books in The Protectors series I think it is the best one...until the next one comes along. I read this book in one sitting - it was fabulous. The story kept me engrossed from the first page to the end. There are some books that you wish would go on longer and this was one of them. Sorry to see it end. Great work Beverly.

Review: The Greek Boss's Bride - Chantelle Shaw

My Rating: 4 1/2 Stars

Harlequin Presents

"Kezia Trevellyn is in love with her brooding boss, Greek tycoon Nik Niarchou. But Romance won't happen - he sees Kezia as no more than his efficient, pleasant PA. But, when she accompanies Nik on a luxury cruise, Kezia's dreams become reality and a powerful and passionate affair erupts. Wined and dined in glamorous cities, and seduced by Nik during long Mediterranean nights, Kezia revels in pure pleasure and almost forgets the one secret reason why their relationship can't last - until Nik proposes..."

Fabulous book, lots of passion, great dialogue and heartbreaking when Kezia's secret is revealed. Chantelle Shaw is a relatively new author and I've read all of her books (they are all keepers). From the first book I was hooked and every one of her books since that first have gained a space on my bookshelf.

Review: The Italian's Future Bride - Michelle Reid

My Rating: 4 1/2 Stars

Harlequin Presents

"Rafaelle lost no time in claiming his fake fiancee: twenty-four hours later Rachel had been darkly and passionately seduced - and feared she had conceived his baby. Which meant that for another intense and sensual month, until he knew whether he was going to be a father, Rafaelle demanded that Rachel pretend to be his future bride!"

Have always enjoyed books written by Michelle Reid and this is another one. It was one of those "could be a baby" books which leads to the hero and heroine stuck together whilst they wait to find out but then realise that they love each other - aah. Nice story.

Review: The Millionaire's Pregnant Wife - Sandra Field

My Rating: 5 Stars

Harlequin Presents (Wedlocked)

"After years taking care of her younger brothers, Kelsey North now has her freedom - and she plans to enjoy it! So when millionaire businessman Luke Griffin, a dangerously handsome man with an even more dangerous reputation, offers to sweep her away to the Bahamas and fulfil all her fantasies, Kelsey thinks she'd be a fool to say no...."

Loved this book. When I read every word of every page of a Presents book that means it was a good one, IMO.

Review: The Italian Billionaire's Virgin - Christina Hollis

My rating: 1 Star

Harlequin Presents

"When he finds out that Contessa Larissa Alfere-Tiziano has inherited a ruined Tuscan palace, gorgeous, ruthless, Italian property magnate Antonio Michaeli-Isola is determined to reclaim his birthright and make the palazzo his own! And if that meant seducing and then discarding the beautiful, spoilt Contessa....then he will."

First book by this author that I've read. Didn't really enjoy it as much as the description on the back of the book made it sound. Too much text and not enough dialogue. I skipped quite a few pages.

Review: Blackmailed by Diamonds, Bound by Marriage - Sarah Morgan

My rating: 4 Stars

Harlequin Presents (Greek Tycoons).

"Blackmailed into marriage....and into the bridal bed. The Brandizi Diamond has traditionally been passed down to the eldest son to offer as a gift to the woman of his heart.... When the diamond comes into beautiful Angelina Littlewood's possession, Nikos Kyriacou knows he must do everything to get the jewel back. But Angie has her own, very personal reasons for wanting to keep it - and for wanting revenge on Nikos!"

I have really liked Sarah Morgan's books in the past and this one is no different. It kept me reading all of it rather than skip like I sometimes do with Harlequin Presents books.

Very sexy hero, naive brainy heroine, secrets and love!

Review : Dangerous Deception - Beverly Barton

My rating: 5 Stars

HQN Harlequin Romantic Suspence

The latest novel by Beverly Barton in The Protectors series.

"For Lausanne Ramsey, romance meant nothing but trouble. Once it cost her her freedome and her baby girl. Now she's got a respectable life...but desparately needs money to find her child. When she accepts an unusual offer from her wealthy employer's daughter, she finds herself under deadly suspicion - and the unwanted protection of security agent Domingo Shea."

Loved it as I have loved every one of The Protectors series. Domingo Shea finally gets his story and what a story it is! Lots of passion, emotion, tension and a whodunnit too.

Can't wait for the next Protectors book. Sawyer needs his own story if you see this Beverly!
